FLASH BACK :

First London-Kumasi direct flight to land at Prempeh I Int. Airport on Dec 3 | The first direct flight from London (Gatwick) to the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi in Ghana, is expected to land at the recently – inaugurated Prempeh I International Airport on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

The flight would be operated by Ethiopian Airlines using a Boeing 737-800 that can accommodate 154 passengers, with 16 Business and 138 Economy seats.

The inbound flight will depart London ( Gatwick) at 2:10am and arrive at Prempeh I International Airport, Kumasi at 9:05am.

The return flight will leave the Prempeh I International Airport at 11am arriving at London (Gatwick) airport at 6pm.

The Ghana Airports Company Limited ( GACL) in a statement issued on Thursday, November 28, 2024, said: “This historic move is the result of a collaboration between the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) and Ethiopian Airlines.”

The GACL urged interested persons to contact Ethiopian Airlines agent Havilahplains via sales@havilahplains.com or 0243 251 286 to join this historic London-Kumasi flight

Ing. Charles Kraikue, the Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, the aviation sector regulator, confirmed to AviationGhana.com that the Prempeh I International Airport, Kumasi has been cleared for the operation.
